Frenectomy
The team at the Tooth Place offers frenectomies for children who are experiencing dysfunction in the lips and tongues related to excess tissue attaching either the upper lip to the gum tissue or the tongue to the floor of the mouth. In some children, these tissues may cause a “tongue-tie” that causes pulling on the gums, impaired speech, interference with eating or drinking, and more.
To treat this, our dentist offers a frenectomy, a non-invasive procedure that involves making small incision within the frenum to allow for greater movement of the lips and restore the function of the tongue. This simple procedure can be done in-office and produces instant results, with minimal healing time and little to no discomfort!
